Playing Hookie
Monkey kisses from Summer Mac on Vimeo.
We skipped out on Stake Conference (I swear we never do this) and went to the zoo! It was so fun. It wasn't busy or hot. It was Avery's first time at the zoo, she had so much fun. I love to see how excited they get to see the animals. She really liked the monkeys, and the penguins. We had so much fun (and again we never do this type of thing:) )
Cute Carnies!

The Making of Patch

I took Avery to Build A Bear, so she would have a special buddy to take to the hospital with her. She picked the bear she wanted in the first 30 seconds of being there. She just fell in love with this cute bear. One of the sales ladies came over to help us and Avery didn't want her to take the unstuffed bear away. She cried when the lady stuffed it. We chose a voice box that says, "I love you, I love you". After the lady was done Avery snatched it back and hugged it over and over. She didn't want me to put anything on it. We named her Patch, because she has a little heart patched on her chest. After we paid the lady gave us some red bows for her ears, and Avery got so upset with lady when she put the bows on. Avery ripped the bows off and threw them on the floor. (have I mentioned she has attitude) Avery loves her bear and was happy to have it at the hospital with her!!!

Surgery Day!
Our day started at 4:30 am. We had to be to the hosp and registered by 6 am. Avery had a great time in the waiting room.
Avery got a new bear to take to the hospital and she didn't let go of it the entire time! It got to see more then we did.
This is how I coped after they took her into surgery! I headed immediately down to the cafeteria at 7:30 am for a large Diet Coke! The doughnut was just my second choice!
The surgery was over just after an hour. The surgeon said it went well. In fact, he said it was one of the most boring surgeries he has done! Ok he didn't say that exactly but pretty close:) after 2 hours we got to go see her.
She was crying when we got there but I rocked her for a minute and she snuggled right up and went back to sleep.
Her first purse that sings! She loved it. Avery's good friends brought her a "new piggy" to replace the one she lost:(
You can't really see how cute this piggy is! It dances to the chicken dance. Avery wasn't sure at first but she warmed up to it and likes to dance with it and kiss it's snout! Thanks Barretts!
I have to brag about how great my neighbors and friends are! So many of you helped me out so much today. Thanks for the sweet gifts, dinners, support, and love! I am so grateful to all of you who helped make my day just a little bit easier!
P.S. Thanks to Aunt Ally who spent the night and got no sleep and took care of Ethan and Haylee! We love you!
The piggy going to market...is going alone:(

well, after tomorrow. Avery is getting her 6th toe removed tomorrow. I am really starting to stress over the whole thing. It will be so sad when she doesn't have her sweet toe anymore. Avery has always been my quarky child and her 6th toe was the fun part of her quarkyness! Please keep us in your prayers. I will post more after her surgery tomorrow!
